jec22..you do realize that the first level of price support in gold is $1000 right? Real support is $850, a level we will see again at some point in the next 4 years. The current lows must hold or gold goes into vertical freefall. The parabolic advance has gone sideways for 4 quarters or so TWICE ALREADY, this is the third time, and while I "hope" it has one more push to the upside, there is absolutely no guarantee. In the perfect world gold would rally until the end of 2013 and then hit a pure vacumm that sucks it all the way back to $850. But perfect seldom happens.
Comparing corn to gold is fraught with peril for a producer of corn. Gold has always been a follower, not a leader, so comparing the leaders (energies, grains) to gold is just full of risks.
