Re: USDA conspiracy theories
It can be called a "conspiracy" or whatever you want, but the fact is being the USDA means never having to admit that you are wrong. they are the referees, they run the time clock, they run the score board. What I mean is they can magically shift acres and bushels to make the books balance AND they can find 400 million bushels if need be...they are never wrong.
Okay this is for Nox talking about USDA`s "bullish report in 2000 and 2004, those years I supose hinting at Bush rigging the elections to caputure that coveted 1% "farm vote" ...whoopty-doo! like if us red-blooded, gun totin`, farm boys would vote for anyone else after...well, 8 years of ....Clinton 🙂
But anyway in 2000 the average corn price was $1.80...whoo-hooo so it rallied a little, it was still it LDP territory for us (Lower Darned Prices) and in 2004 about $2.47ish it was still a good deal for endusers, still hovering at our C.O.P. and the government probably saved some money, not having to dish out so much LDP money. Win Win for everyone and the farmer got shafted as always.
Here`s where I found corn prices for those years http://farmdoc.illinois.edu/manage/uspricehistory/USPrice.asp

Re: USDA conspiracy theories
hopefully the acreage certification date of august 14th now gives everyone enough time .....to figure that out?
ethanol mandate was passed in 2004.
rfs standard was passed in 2007.
the timing on BOTH coincidently, perhaps helped some folks get re elected.

Re: USDA conspiracy theories
Maybe they`ll get the acreage they need by extending the certification date to June 1st, 2014? 🙂
