Re: USDA cooking the books
Couldnt agree more.....im afraid the government wants cheap food again. Farmers have had a few good years and now its back to the same old low prices of the last three decades.
I think the old saying of the 70's will ring true very soon which was.... " give me nixon and $5 wheat i promise not to piss it away this time! " lol

Re: USDA cooking the books
Something else to chew on. Wouldn't you think that a firm # would be in place for the 2014 ARC/PLC payment??? End of averaging period was 8/31/15. We Know what yields were for 2014??? Or do we?? Word is NASS is redoing their yields for each county. + or -, you decide. FSA employees have directive not to say anything with regard to the payment. Boys we have been lead willingly to the slaughter. Highest turn out ever for a program signup. Says alot about how "independant" we really are.

Re: USDA cooking the books
Go back and look at the annual jan report and compare YOY numbers. The report has 3 years worth of info and if you compare back to previous years it changes
I have found changes in acres. I have found changes in yield. And all these changes are hush hush. Some go back 2 years
As for the farm program. If it wasn't for crop insurance I wouldn't be in it. I will receive zero 2014 ARC/PLC payments. Hard to say for 2015 but I'm betting zero too. Unfortunately to get reasonable crop insurance you gotta play their game

Re: USDA cooking the books
Are you saying that your participation in the crop insurance program (MPCI) requires you to participate in other parts of the farm program (ARC/PLC)?

Re: USDA cooking the books
Not sure but I do think participation in the conservation elements of the program are required to qualify for the federal crop insurance....
