Updated field-level crop progress report

We just released our updated corn crop progress report. While the USDA publishes Crop Progress reports that estimate how the crop is progressing at the state level, we have created the first analysis that shows how crop progress varies within a state, and even from field to field within an individual county. Videos of crop progress are available for the entire Corn Belt as well as for individual states.

The full report that shows estimates of crop maturity across the Corn Belt can be found here:

Hope this is helpful/insightful information and please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Re: Updated field-level crop progress report

Jeff this map is already way behind. Warm dry conditions are putting this crop on the fast track to maturity.

Re: Updated field-level crop progress report

Yes, as mentioned in the post, it only has data through August 25th and so this week's analysis doesn't reflect the impact that last week's extremely warm weather had on moving the crop closer to maturity. I expect we'll see some substantial progress in next week's report.

Re: Updated field-level crop progress report

i think, what Blacksand is saying, Jeff, is even for the 25th it seems to be lagging.

it kinda does to me, as well, edit: b/c of the little bit of heat/ H2O stress --but can you explain again how the data is collected or determined.

thanks,
