Very concerned
Beginning to get very concerned about the future of Ethanol under the Trump administration. Cabinet has big oil guys and an anti-ethanol guy in secretary of energy pick Rick Perry.
ANYBODY ELSE CONCERNED?

Re: Very concerned
Yes, both that and trade in general.
But God Bless those patriotic farmers who voted overwhelmingly for Trump, despite what would seem their own interests.
Upon query most just think that their current circumstances are so desperate that they "had no choice."
So we'll see.

Re: Very concerned
You probably should be just as concerned about the value of the dollar.

Re: Very concerned
What supports the idea of big oil being opposed to ethanol?
Seems like an assumption science issue....
But the dollar value issue is a problem. Time should the US continue to devalue to make the rest of the world feel better??

Re: Very concerned
Trump and these folks in his cabinet are smart people. I find it very hard to believe that with the success story of ethanol and the positive effect that it has had on the U.S. economy, they would pull the plug. Another argument would be that oil production in the U.S. is about to get a shot in the arm. That alone, will increase profits for the oil companies on a huge scale. Perhaps they really won't need those ethanol gallons to increase their profits substantially.
And FWIW Nox, if you wanted that lying, anti-American Constitution candidate as your president, maybe you should have advised her to campaign in the flyover states.

Re: Very concerned
All you need is love..... da ta da ta da......... and hollywood, the press corpse, and charm....... well 2 out of 3 ...
So far I like the absense of fear from a leadership position.... and so far .... it is not misleading...
Ethanol is not gasoline.... If I oppose the E-85 mandate, for whatever reason, does that make me anti- ethanol.
Not concerned, it is about time we had appointees in place that know the subject under discussion, especially when it comes to energy.
We have been too pleased with the appointment by appearance. And I should mention that Trumps cabinet seems to be short on hispanic muslim single women.
Anyone else notice that.... You really have to wonder when you look back at the cabinet appointments and their replacements in the last 25 years,

Re: Very concerned
well this is funny, now that Nox a previous ethanol hater ...but hates Trump more, will throw his past EROI ciphers out the window.
A couple things though 1. Trump listens but does it his own way 2. Ethanol is an American success story, that can`t just be thrown out. Now, terry Branstad will be busy in China, however if the RFS is messed with Terry`ll open a can of whoop butt, plus China imports DDGs...China loves our DDGs.
