My only point is that there is enough circumstantial evidence based on Rick Perry and others in authoritative positions to question whether Trump is the most ANTI-agriculture president we have seen in our lifetime. With the exception of Branstad, these are the people we have been fighting with to get products like ethanol to the market.

I remember Nancy Pelosi telling us we need to pass The Affordable Care Act to see what was in it.  I think we should just wait and see what happens when Trump and his team take office.  I for one, don't think this is the end of the US as I have heard on talk radio and msnbc.  I don't see a socilist or a dictator, but a businessman.  We will see how that works in Washington D.C.  He is talking about cleaniing up the CIA, the last president to mention a housecleaning of that agency was John F. Kennedy.  Washington DC is a power hungry town, I hope he is well protected. I for one, want to see what he can do. HE is not who I wanted for president, didn't want the fellow that preceded him either..  The office commands respect and we should give it.

While lobbying on the Hill for the RFS, the most vocal opponents, other than anti-ag/anti-gmo folks were big oil, from Texas and Oklahoma.  Their commodity groups, even corn groups in those states did back door lobbying against it.  So did other commodities from there.

ethonal is bad science,  we as farmer should be proud to raise food and not be slaves of government subsidies to ethanol, and also for that matter,  wind and solar.    We and the country will be better off if we are building and producing for demand and not for goverment handout that asre financed with goverment debt.

The value of the dollar may go up short term, but the dollar will be worthless in the longterm.  Obviously "timing" is the key!

WHO radio had a "ask the governor" show last night and Trump and ethanol were brought up to governor Branstad and he wasn`t at all concerned of Trump being hard on ethanol.  Brandstad`s son Eric is a Bigshot with the ethanol deal at Gowrie and he was a honcho in Trump`s Iowa campaign, ethanol brought Trump to the dance.

This Rex Tillerson (sec of state nominee) once refered to ethanol as 'moonshine" has changed, because his Exxon got into algae ethanol production.  Rick Perry will have to be watched.  But farm groups need to have their heads in the game...just like always.
