Weather conditions report

It sure would be nice for ALL posters to tell us where they are located when they report their local weather or crop conditions.  Knowing that there are still snow banks around in May, without knowing where they are,  is of little value to this forum.

Re: Weather conditions report

NM and AZ...the Cow Guy here.

we been measuring the high country (7000 ft to 13,990ft snow by the foot for a week...still got 5 more days of snow left it looks like.

chama bowl ( 12,000 square mile bowl at 7,900ft ) for instance has had in  the 3.5 to 6 ft range since Wed.

( btw it needs it bad too )

the low country...bout a mile high, kinda in the 4 to 6" range the past week.

Re: Weather conditions report

Drove the I40 route from Needles, Ca to across New Mexico two weeks ago and was no snow except a very little on the highest mountains at that time. Sure glad they are getting some now. Was shaping up to be a disaster.

Re: Weather conditions report

My location in Central Kansas missed the forecasted snow for yesterday and today. Just a dusting.  I'd call it 1/2" or less.  Not enough to even try to measure.

Re: Snow pack is still going to be way low,

we need 350 to 500 inches on the high stuff to start to recover from the big dry.

there might be some high stuff that ends up with 150 inches this year...we'll see.

heck every darn resevoir is bout dry.

Elephant Butte for example is bout 20% full ( holds 2,400,000 acre feet when full ).
