A pretty substantial area of southern wheat in KA, OK, TX -- received/still receiving - some (not huge amounts- 0.1-.50 inches)  precipitation which could be life saving at this point --------------------but the market is up tonight.

Re: Wheat?

I am almost dumbfounded on this subject.
almost everyone on here has lamenting on
The poor condition of the wheat....crop condition reports show its in bad shape.
World wide its not all that whippy (despite what pioneer Virgil says).

Yet, you can't understand why its going
up. ??

Then, that "rain" will do little to nothing,
Perhaps wet the dust.

Plus all the rain in the world will not
Bring winterkilled wheat to life.

And wheat being up, just looked..3 cents
oh my! !!!!

I just don't know what else to say.

Re: Wheat?

I'd just like to get some rain, still dodging the drops.

Seems like another one slipped around us.

Re: Wheat?

I don't get much meaning out of a day's  or session's move. A weeks move maybe. There's no doubt that if the current moisture forecast for the Southern Plains is light the market is probably going to react to the higher side. Probably the next three weeks will show the trend. Either there is enough rain or it stays on the knifes edge. No doubt wheat is being evaluated as poor enough to tear up but, we still don't have much of a numbert to go on other than the condition ratings, and they are rather vague as to how much wheat is actually done for. Just a waiting game.

Re: Wheat?

Blue must mean water, water must mean the crop is as good at it can possibly be.  If we saw it on our Chicago computer screen it must be true right?

We still have a chance thru the night and tomorrow, I'm betting come Tuesday I don't have enough moisture in the gauge to even dump.  I sure hope I'm wrong.

Re: Wheat?

Wheat futures will drop like a rock I think??? Not much rain but it did rain!! Don't know if this recent downside chased many long positions out of the futures yet!! I bet this little rain excuse will!!! Been wrong before let's see , time will tell?? More longs then shorts of course it's going down !! Money moves the futures not facts?? Hrw is in more danger now nation wide than any crop of my 40 years of farming!!! Just my 2 cents worth
