Re: When it Rains.....

Thanks Guys, I appreciate all your thoughts and kind words. The leg seems a bit better today but yesterday and today when I changed the packing on the drain hole the gauze over the hole was tinged green, which is why the doc put me on the second antibiotic. Late in the day yesterday I needed to call the surgeon that opened the leg for a check up appointment in a week. I told them about the green ring and they wanted me at the ER like now. ER took at look at it and sent me home. Told them that maybe the needed to check with the doc at the hospital as to why they told me to come to the ER. Said nope I was fine and wait to see what it looks like on Monday. I sure hope the ER guy is right.

Re: When it Rains.....

Jen. I can't remember your whole story,
But when I hear hole in leg and constant
Drainage, I think wound vac therapy.
I thought it was a bunch of hooy until

We used on. That constant oozing keeps
Everything wet, plus some of the components
In the exude actually inhibit healing.
You can look up "negative pressure wound
Therapy". The big name in the biz is kci.
I think there is now a downloadable unit
Made by Smith and nephew.

All the units have a bandage that is clear and
Goes over the wound. A gentle and constant
Vaccum is pulled all the time, so the
Ooze is pulled of into a little Container, via
A tube that runs from sore to vac pump.

Might not hurt to look at it..you can also
Use it in tunnel wounds.

Take care and good luck !
