Starting to get dry here - no rain since last Thursday - Rain coming in around 6 pm thru Tuesday morning - 1 to 1.5 inchs , High today 80 , then down to 50's and low 30's next week - Well Damit - What was the question ?? I hate when I forget like that , Anyway no field work going to happen around here till next week -- Maybe

Gully washer here last night

10 miles away got zero

No rain gauge out for fear of being frozen

Was digging last week and most of frost is gone

SRW looks worst I have seen in many yrs

About like it did before folks stuck a bunch of tile in the ground

This ground is good wheat ground and well drained [tile], but lots of brown spots amongst the green

Too good to rip up or RR and not good enough to make any money

Not much of a market for mixed grain around here

Weather pattern has the look of May corn planting start, so far

There is nothing wrong with planting corn in May. First week in May would be perfect. Nothing wrong with planting corn the last weekend in April either. Nice rain here today in NC Iowa. Probably going to end up with a solid half inch over a 4 hour period. Need to chase out the last of the frost. Good wet day to enjoy the last round of the Masters.....MikeM

3.5 inches in Poweshiek county iowa and still raining. Gave me a chance to get the ole farmhouse cleaned up. Spring turkey season starts tomorrow, hope not to be hunting in the snow! Needed every bit of it.

Raining hard right now in NE Wi. We are under a winter storm watch until 10 a.m. Lots of water standing in the fields. Frost is just about gone. Hopefully they will dry out quick. No field work here for least a week maybe longer.
