Re: Who's ready for the Presidential election year grain rally?

I`m ready I`m ready! 🙂  The trouble is, the farmer has never mattered less in an election as we will in 2016.  I think they pulled out all the stops to make the general economy put on it`s very very very best face to get Hillary elected. And it seems when the service economy does better, it comes at the expense of the commodity producers.

If we complain to congress, they`ll throw up their hands like "What???  What MORE do you cry babies want???"..."Your farm groups wanted the TPP...we passed it, you wanted COOL repealed and we did that...you wanted section 179 tax deduction made permanent and we did that...you didn`t want a government shutdown, so we passed the omnibus budget...we gave you a farm bill....so seriously why not re-elect us???"

With all that crap they gave us and we are supposed to appreciate....why didn`t they give us something that we could actually use, like a bucket of dirt?

The Soybean association polled farmers and most want Trump followed by Cruz and then someone else, then Hillary and then someone else and someone else, then Bernie Sanders.  Well, on the whole farmers aren`t too stupid, I guess  🙂

Yes, I'm ready for the grain rally this year, but like Ray said, it will be the weather that may bring on the rally, not some politician.  The farmer is "more forgotten" every year except for the bad things some think they  do to the environment.

A few campaign slogans of the past:

"Vote yourself a farm." Abe

"A chicken in ever pot and a car in every garage." Hoover ?

Re: Who's ready for the Presidential election year grain rally?

I`ll try and say this as non-political as possible and throw a few market relevant tid-bits.  But only the Republicans are serious candidates, the other party is just plain socialist that are out to promise and buy their way into office and unfortunately that works..California gone, Illinois gone, New York gone many states are "gone" and serious presidential candidates have zero chance in those states.  What Ben Franklin warned about `a republic only surviving until the masses figure out they can make someone else buy their whisky`  ..well, many states in the electoral process have figured out sending the bill to someone else.

It`s a catch-22 a good leader saying the truth can not get elected, a good leader that could slip past the goalie would have entirely a certain party working against them and half of their own party also working against them.  Too many voters and politicians are doing too well with things in the mess that they are, except it can`t last...oh it`ll last longer than a sane person might think, but it will end, like the last ax blow finally taking down a giant Redwood.

But don`t count on politicians to "make things better", one party will make things much worse and the best in the other party will only maintain the staus quo at their best.

Trump is not a leader in the party.  He is a crossover to wreck it!!!!  So obvious!!

I perhaps should have said it differently.  Here is what I meant.  Trump is a liberal democrat!  Look up his record of media interviews. His donation recipients. Other than his immigration plan what is conservative about him.  Unless of course the voter is a moderate republican, he is liberal like a democrate. A democrate in republican clothing!  They are fools who support him.  Suckers is  maybe a better term.
