Who's ready for the Presidential election year grain rally?

Here is my advice to republican candidates that want to neuter Donald Trump...Pick up letter for letter trump`s immigration policy!  simple as that.  Trump would be nothing...2, 3% in the polls were it not for his immigration policy.  The "smartest" people in the room said and some still say that a candidate saying what Trump does wouldn`t even get off the launch pad, well here his is 40% in the polls leading the nearest contender by double digits.

Now I`m no rocket scientist, but it seems obvious to me that the country really really really likes a candidate that has Trump`s immigration policy and are willing to overlook any of his precieved baggage.

Trump & Hillary both have name recognition, regardless of whatever they represent.  Not everyone has cable nor satellite TV, so many didn't see the debates with their underling competitors, and they are reliant on the news media to summarize and compare the candidates.  The news media concentrates their attention on the 'leaders' in the polls.  It's a media circus.  The best info for the public will come as the primaries come up.  Unfortunately, some of the candidates, basically any of them except the 'leaders' stand a large chance of just dropping out if they don't perform well in the earliest primaries.  The early name recognition, and early media coverage, for the poll 'leaders' is a huge obstacle to overcome for anyone else.  Personally, I don't think things are looking good for either party right now, and the end result will again be a personal choice between the lesser of the two evils presented to us in November.  Still, it's only January, so there is still hope.

Democracy requires an educated, thinking voter base.  We have become comfortable with being told what to think.

I agree with wheaton, trump is a media creation.  Between any dem candidate and trump it will just be who can present the sweetest lie.

Urban concentration of voters, and the transfer of the word smart to a phone few know how to operate, have skewed the scales in the direction of the traditional corrupt socialists... There are only two parties, the socialist media party and the republican party.  Trump is an attempt by the socialist media to sell another round of "change".

Can't wait for the actual voting to start.  The "media election" never ends but real voting might change the game.

Thankful that the first two states are a predominantly rural midwestern state

and a "Live Free or Die" state with some Libertarians
