World's largest

Grain bins , only two in the world, both in Atlantic iowa at a brand new just being built e plant.

No corn in them yet. Ground has been broken for a third one at Flint Hills Resources  Menlo,  Iowa.

Created by an Iowa company,  Sukup.

Re: World's largest

With the new bins being put up and no further need to pile corn on the ground, how will the USDA and traders ever know how to predict the amount of corn we have in this country?    Oh yeah,  they'll just assume that every bin is always full........kinda like they do now.  Smiley Wink

Re: World's largest

Glad to hear of a new E-plant being built.  And it looks like their wanting to load up on lots of cheap corn while they can. Flexibility.  Drove by the Henry County IL E-plant last week.  It sure looked like it was a humming and steaming along very well.

No excuse for any grain farmer not buying an e-85 compatible vehicle when purchasing a new gas vehicle.

They might as well assume the bins are full.  Farmers will lie about the amount in them, anyway.  What's good for the goose is good for the gander.  Farmers don't want to give accurate information to government surveys, why should they assume anyone else is telling the truth?

Re: World's largest

I  just  remembered all  of  the  news about  ''' being to expensive, to much regulation, etc., etc. '' of the excuses of not being able to build any new refineries---

Guess that excuse just went down the drain  ?

Re: World's largest

Amen, What we found out on our 2,000 mile + trip east ( I-80  76) was that E-85 pumps were common in Iowa and some in IL but east of that very little if any. We did not drive out of the beaten path to find them for our van.  Here local, there are lots of new E-85 and some E-15 pumps available.  The last time I filled up E-85 was $1.89 VS $2.45.  Just wondering if there are as many new flex-fuel vehicles available to buy today as there was 5 years ago?
