Would you buy a piece of land in Paraguay?

In the country, you can buy 2,5 acres for US$ 200. It is already been known for soybean productivity.  Buying land there would be a good idea?

The Bush family bought 100k ha there, must be a good deal.

It would depend on the other costs of production and marketing.  If it cost $10 per bushel to produce and $2 a bushel to transport to market, then $200 land might be too expensive.

Yes. One of the problem is that Paraguay has just one concrete road, but I think it depends on how big your farm would be.

I would, but unfortunately I would get overruled by my wife.  Ever since the 08' meltdown, I've wanted to buy a house in Vegas.  I keep asking, but my wife keeps telling me no.

Buying property in another country brings a lot of positives (cheap land prices) but also carries a lot of extra costs (ie., security, workers, supervisor, translators, ...etc.) My wife and I had a home in Huatulco, Oaxaca Mexico and it got pricey every month whether we used it or not.
