My theory is to not be the first person to panic but to be well ahead of most of the crowd. I'm moving to DefCon 4.

Thinking ahead and of particular concern would be this hitting now, in the last year of the Yeltsin Administration- 55% of the public has no confidence in the Administration and the other 40% none in government in general.

In end stage neoliberal capitalism, the reigning religion is that there is no such thing as a public good- only private property. Which in regards to public health is only true for the people with doomsday bunkers.

Practically speaking, I don't want to be long anything except maybe except maybe gold and bonds- but will probably just get liquid and sit it out. Don't want to short the stock indices because I think the cross-currents between a possible real Black Swan and the Fed's Funny Money Tsunami could be particularly vicious.
