affordable care act....not for rural !

Hello. This is exactly marketing, but your
Going to do better marketing to pay for
care.
Our insurance depth put a "guessometer"
Online about a week ago. Where I am
There will be 7 zones. You enter age, county
You live in and your "modified income" ((adjusted? )). And bang out spits an amount
For the silver plan. It spits out the premium
Without tax credits, and with tax credits.
A couple observation after playing with
It for a while. First my premium will go
down without any tax credits....but I am
Not an ideal risk.
second, played with location. Here is
Where the yelling starts.
Premiums for those living in a metro
Area are cheaper, than those in the
rural.
Example, a 56 year old, in the far rural,
Premium $452...in the metro, $356...

I also have been in contact with a friend
In Wyoming, and the projection is
Higher.

Re: affordable care act....not for rural !

I sent in a political contribution ------- double last years ------- I should get my exemption in the mail any day now.

I have heard the exemption will require an implanted tracking device ---------- seems redundant since I carry the polit bureau official communicator.

If they would have paid for health care with cell phone add-on charges and administered it with an App,  we might be praising it.

Missed opportunity?  Or the story of our society,  tech frills are essential and health care is just a fundraising opportunity????

Re: affordable care act....not for rural !

I suppose risk assessment is higher in rural areas than urban. Or it is because rural centers have fewer options for providers.

I Know my fire and wind policy on my home went up over $400 per year. The reason was that Oklahoma was raised because of the frequent incidents of storm damage.

In neither case did Obama care have any thing to do with it. Insurance providers are going to assess risk and charge for it.

Re: affordable care act....not for rural !

Did everybody in OK get a rate increase or maybe it was just your ins. co. -just sayin--i know mine was going up $600 a couple of years ago and i went shopping and found a competitor for less than i was currently paying for the same coverage and lo and behold they found an error and my company matched the other one.  i then asked for a rebate for the previous 3 years but that was futile. i told them to keep their pencils sharp or i would shop again and so far they havent raised mine again.

The rates in MN within an hour's drive of the Mayo Clinic are higher then the rest of the state of MN.

You guys need to look at an election map...simple as that.

Second map down

Red and pink will pay more than blue.

Really quite simple really.

Yes I have had an ofrfer of nearly as much coverage for close to half of what my insurer asks. Now I need a few customer reviews of the new insurer! Looking a gift horse in the mouth I gotta find out what is the catch.

The storm has to occur on the third tuesday of the month?
