old crop cash sales are a "negotiated" basis, contract by contract more often than not. We keep some on hand for the nitch/holiday/problem solving/ short contract problems that fall for our customers. The price bonus is in the "negotiated" basis -----seldom in the board price. The trade bids up to protect the bulk of supplly ahead, not the little shortage they have at the end.
Just my experience------------------or how we have fit the last of our storage into our marketing plan.
