drougt returns

The drought is back, and worse.
Had some rains, that just got people's
Hopes up, now we're dying.
Pastures brown, alfalfa short. Feed short
And burning up. Beans are brown, Milo
shooting heads but leaf is curled and
brown. The drought guard corn stayed
Greener than the other, but cob only
Half filled, and plants are now drying up
And being chopped for silage.
Average wheat yeild in the teens.

For those fools out there saying record
Harvest. Come out, I'll let you take
A walking crop tour. Before you leave
I'll introduce you to a couple pet buzzards
That will watch over you while you walk
in the hot sun

Seeing is believing.

Re: drougt returns

It hurts to be in the area that takes the beating, just curious though if it would have been chopped any way or if this is plan B?

Re: drougt returns

Evev more. Our western most county
really bad. They are getting disaster
For 2012, 2013 and now part of
2014.
They are also allowed emergency hay
And graze of crp.
Our problem, the county seat of our two
Other counties have had good rains, thusly
That is the official rainfall.
they are green, we are brown.

I talked to Fsa in our worst county, so
Far the livestock disaster program is
Paying $305 per pair for the 3 year
Period.

But we rented out that pasture..

What do I get as landowner......nothing.

Re: drougt returns

I don't think much of there disaster program run most of my cows in aneighoring county in the summer that was not declared disaster but had to bring thode cows of from grass early and start feeding well lets just say it was a double disater. BS as far as I'm concerned.
