Re: drougt returns

Hugger. Have you visisted with fsa. The
might be a way. Usually if a county is
Designated a disaster, the adjoining.
County might get something, also
If you have operations in a disaster
County.
if you already haven't tried, I would
At least visit with them. Every little
bit helps

Re: drougt returns

Hugger, is it the local gov that is giving you fits? Because the Feds are trying to work with the cattle producers again by opening up emergency haying/grazing of CRP with NO repayment penalty. CP25 contracts are not included but everything else is I'm told. We've hayed 50% last year and the opposing 50% the previous year. This is turning into some decent grass now that most of the dead thatch and such has been removed from previous harvests. Can't sell it if you don't need it, but it can be given away.

Re: drougt returns

Shag between the corn and soybean rows around here now you won't find much if any CRP. And the pastures that have been broken well you probably would have to see it for yourself. As far as the disaster guess I just live in the wrong spot this time.
By the way spread the cover crop on 7-22 by plane looks awesome.

Re: drougt returns

I understand Hugger, I guess I thought you were closer to my location.

Good news on the covers. I thought about planting a few acres of fall covers but changed my mind and will probably do spring seeded again.

Re: drougt returns

If you're talking about the hunting rif raf, I'm sold.

If you're talking about the everyday rif raf, well I guess I'm also sold.

Re: drougt returns

Just got word one of my growers in North Central Washington got 4 bushel/acre with his hard red spring wheat. Hasn't rained for nearly a year.
