Re: for Ray J & MT

One block north of the drug store at Wall SouthDakota. Appears an iowa company did the installing.

Kennebec south Dakota has a massive new grain and fert set up going in by the Wheat growers assn.

These are out in the western desert of South Dakota.

The speed limit is 80 mph on I 90 so all crop assements were done rather rapidly.

South Dakota is green from one end to the other and bins are springing up all over the area west of the Missouri River right up to Rapid City.

The crop they will bring to market this year will offset anything MO might be short.

Contrary to popular belief MO will raise millions of bu of corn and beans too.

The south Dakota thing looks like they are betting the whole wad on the fact they will continue to be wetter and warmer than in the past.

Thanks Hobby Farmer.....always appreciate your traveling updates and what is happening out in the rest of the world!

North Dakota corn production has quadrupled in less than 20 years

Re: for Ray J & MT

Interesting Hobby....

Does that represent production or cheap money to borrow....  or just the fact that our 1950's grain storage is finally getting updated...

Looking across country new  grain bins and wind chargers are sure reproducing aren't they?

Re: for Ray J & MT

NEW production, 100's of thousands of acres broken out of pasture and hay.

They're able to raise 80 to 150bu corn out here dry land two out of three years. 10 to 18,000 pop.

Some trouble in financing this spring for some. John Deere has done well out here.

What hay is still left did really well.too. pastures ars green and almost lush, cows are in excellent condition.

Re: for Ray J & MT

The question is...why are the Dakotas such a garden
Spot now....it used to be it took real men to farm
And survive there.
The positive reaction to climatic shift....but what
About when things "get back to normal"

Re: for Ray J & MT

Mt I just got a phantom 3 advanced, haven't had time to fly it yet, I need to watch the video etc. Would be easier to just have someone do some hands on training.

Anybody close to Podunk with a phantom?  I'll buy the steaks for a lesson. Fri and Sat are steak nights there.

Re: for Ray J & MT

My son has been flying a Phantom 3 Professional for about a year now.  Has taken some really good pics of our fields and doing field work.  His advise is to go out in an open field and get some "stick time" in.  It will not get away from you like an RC plane.  If it gets out of sight just push the home button and it will land with in five feet of take-off point, and if it gets almost out of range it will come home automatically.

Looking forward to some "up in the air"  Hobby pics.
