Re: gmo's.......are we wrong ?
I love steak as much as the next guy, but living in a house with a dietary conscience wife and daughter, I eat whatever they cook. Chicken and fish mostly. No one complained more then me when they made vegertarian pizza, yes a pizza made of vegetables. After about five times complaining how stupid it is to eat "vegetarian pizza" I came to the conclusion that it was darn good. Now it is hard to eat a piece of that old greasy pizza. The old saying, "you are what you eat" makes me concerned I may turn into a chicken.

Re: gmo's.......are we wrong ?
Everything in moderation Slim. These people that believe that depriving themselves of everything and anything they deem unhealthy are kind of kidding themselves. I don't eat a lot of beef anymore and not real sure why. I guess my wife and I have grown fond of all the different ways their are to enjoy chicken and fish. Don't get me wrong we still grill a fare among of pork and beef in the summer but we probably only have red meat a couple of times a week. It's not really a health thing. It has just become part of our lifestyle. I wouldn't be afraid to eat it more often. On the other hand I don't recommend bacon and eggs for breakfast, a juicy hamburger at lunch, and a big steak or pork chop at night seven days a week either. That might lead to some pretty serious health issues! Everybody deserves a few slices of greasy pizza loaded up with whatever they like once in a while. Unfortunately there are families in this country who are eating it practically everyday. That is where the obesity comes it. Everything in moderation.

Re: gmo's.......are we wrong ?
suspected.
Even in our own ranks, we have blurred vision, if it isn't gmo, its organic. Not true
.
There is conventional methods.
One of the biggest things that cought
My attention is how the American people
Don't want it.
We are business people. If you have something for sale but people don't want
It, is that good business?
I read comments about "the people don't
Know anything".
Well, consider, we talk about political figures
And the government, and we crack, "we're from the government and we're going
To help you" or "we know what's best
For you"
Sound similar?
I know this is the market section. I have
Read until nausea, "the marketing is always right".
Tell me, if 60+% of the market says it doesn't
Want gmo's.....what is the market saying,
and are we listening?
Remember too, those telling us everything
Good about gmo.
Have a vested interest to continue as we
Are.
Think about it.
As one commercial says. "What are YOU having"
Cheers

Re: gmo's.......are we wrong ?
Before I call and change my seed order I need to know a lttle more about who did the polling and who they polled. Although it's good entertainmen. I'm not sure these are the people that I want to get my news from.

Re: gmo's.......are we wrong ?
What created our desire for "redefined" organic production? Traditional definition organic includes gmo, doesn't it?
Was it that good feeding the world pre 1950?
Because that is where the organic movement wants us to be. Pre gmo, pre chemical, pre fertilizer-not sewer related.
Give it some thought. And ask yourself if the world is going to step backwards that far.
If you want to go back to subsistence farming go ahead, you won't need a marketing plan.

Oh, how I love those carbs!! but I agree, they are most likely more of a threat to me than red meat.
Here is an interesting article.

Re: gmo's.......are we wrong ?
Too close ------- I agree with you.
Red meat is not bad for you, gluten is not bad for you, dairy is not bad for you, Organic is not bad for you--- as long as the manure has been cleaned off and the worm has been removed.
I still think my 8th grade english teacher was one of the brightest people I have ever met. She believed, as the old USDA did before political pressure took over, that a well balanced diet from all the basic food groups, consumed in moderation, is the best for you---as long as it is coupled with physical activity. And she believed that vitamins and minerals should be acquired from food as much as possible --- not from a chemical compound pill or manufactured supplement. ie get calcium from milk, potassium from a banana,
Iron from red meat, etc
Eating nothing but green vegitables til your ribs pop out, snarfing down dounuts, candy bars, and soda in the range of 400 oz per day--totalling 3500 calories a day, or grilling t-bones twice a day and thinking that steer hanging over both sides of the plate just needs a baked potato to be a well balanced meal------ are all popular dietary fads these days. IMO, there are More people doing each of these than people in the US who can name the food groups and which foods contain the essential vitamins and minerals.
They are all distructive behaviors ------------------- and it is ugly when those behaviors come with attitudes of arrogance, condecention and entitlement.
I think a dedicated drunk, or a meth addiction holds equal status. Somehow stuffing yourself to a state of immobility ..... comes to mind.
That is 6 examples of destructive behavior that has everything to do with the health of our citizens, the cost of our health care, and the cost of our food -------- but almost nothing to do with the quality of our food or in what method it was produced.
So lets all waddle and limp into another GMO/organic/conventional discussion. And ignore real problems
