hang up the torch

or at least use it judiciously so as to not have to refill the oxygen. Not the time to be cutting up the junk pile to scrap out.

A critical oxygen shortage is looming across the Gulf Coast.

In a critical shortage, medical- much of it regular and non-Covid- and water purification applications would need priority.

Can, I guess, shut down the steel mills and some other industrial users.

Nice job!

Re: hang up the torch

PSA might be counterproductive.

I wonder how many might rush out to top off?

Re: hang up the torch

There is only a limited relationship between industrial and medical oxygen, but some can be diverted.

Problems seem mostly in overloading the supply chain as much as lack of raw material.

Re: hang up the torch

September is coming. Soon people will have to get off their butts and go back to work and pay their rent, and make stuff, refilling the supply chain. I wonder if Andrew Yang's Yangbangers will ever figure out that "unwilling to work" directly correlates to empty shelves.

Re: hang up the torch

Tank of oxy lasts long time around here IF I REMEMBER TO SHUT OFF THE VALVE.

Don't use it for any cutting just bending and brazing.

Other tools around here are far superior to the gas ax for cutting.

Re: hang up the torch

So how much I use the torch has little to no effect on how much O2 is available for covid patients?  You’re just trying to stir the pot?    But you may be right that now is not a good time to be scrapping stuff out. It will probably get higher priced in the future
