Just a thought, maybe the Chinese are watching Putin slowly getting bled out in eastern Europe.

The Chinese are slightly overcrowded and have an energy deficiency. Would not be hard for them to head north from west corner of Mongolia to the artic ocean. Give them elbow room and resources, some yet to be discovered.

They have man power Putin can only dream about to get r done.

Next maybe more importantly thing to do is get the pharmaceutical pill making business out of China. At least enough to take care of north America.

Putin certainly does appear to have set his nation on course to become a vassal state of China- more quickly than anticipated.

Best case would be a nascent, westward oriented democracy on China's northwestern frontier.

Although given the sudden lurch from authoritarian to totalitarian state, any credible domestic challenge appears unlikely.

Fortunately, the West's resolve in Ukraine probably buys some more time for Taiwan. Had we folded they'd be getting ready to bring it.
