info on corn insurance claims
I read reports on here about guys harvesting high moisture corn with low ylds. and want you to know from a producer that has had experience that if you have an ins. claim they will NOT reimburse you for your drying charges. Call your agent and check, don't add more costs to your already losses.

Re: info on corn insurance claims
When that went on in 1993, it was more the "Quality Issue" angle that they used.....40 bu/acre, 40 lb test weight, 40 % moisture!

Re: info on corn insurance claims
Now let me get this straight. Federal Crop Insurance premiums are primarily covered by taxpayers who pay on average 62% of the premium. Now, we think Fed. Crop should cover drying expense of our 8 dollar corn? I think they should pay to harvest it as well. Heck, maybe they should even have to pay to plant it and everything else. I'll just sit at home.
