ohio, michigan has normal yields!. Really!.?

just read an article in agweb stating normal yields in those two states of 163 corn and 56 bu beans! are u kidding me!  i went thru both a month ago and the drought was pretty evident. Corn was 3' tall and brown and beans a foot tall and very patchy emergence to no emergence. and that was from the very NE corner to canton across the middle up to toledo! Crops dont recover from drought that well even with rain and there hasnt been much of that in those two states! all i can say is wow!
