sales...........
its a bit early, but we all seem to be focusing on them......wheat is fighting, and could see some bumps as world stocks dry up...........corn is listless, but actually not tracking as bad as some think, consider this, a 500-800M drop in corn off the sheets by Jan and the exports cant absorb it even at this crappy pace, think about it............and SOYA, WOW.......we knew last year got off to a slow start..........but we are closing in on the yearly target already, and are 44% ahead of last year............
current | previous | actual | projected | difference | current | current | |
year | year | % | % | % | year | year | |

Re: sales...........
corn----probably not that far away from seeing some increases in weekly sales out of US.......between the shutoff in east European loadings in mid Nov, and the fact that SA is not offering corn past first of year....and that wheat is not nearly as competitive with corn .....all reasons to see a bit more activity in corn sales
beans----we need to get used to the fact that when global crops are short, the buyer (China) will want to take what used to be a 10-12 month program in half that time.....and yes, they likely purchased some insurance bushels to swap back and forth between US and SA
ethanol---likely dropping to 4 byn corn per year annualized rate.....then we see if supplies can tighten up enough to bring some profit back and get more plants running........with corn supplies so tight in center/east US, I can envision plants in NW corn belt running pretty hard and other areas operating at reduced rates or on again/off again mode....

Re: sales...........
8 million tons less DDGs. It appears something will have to give. Maybe DDGs exports.

Re: sales...........
I did feed dry and wet ddg's for 30 years. I used them as feed, to increase protein and minor minerals in my dairy cow diet. One side effect was the way dry ddg's increased appetite, even used as a small amount in the ration, total pounds ate each day was increased. With dairy cows the more they eat the more milk you get. Heck, I even liked the smell of them. I believe the biggest sub for ddg's would be soybean meal.
