MT....remember you live in MO...much like Indiana...it is truly irrelevant for grain production.

Backyarditis affects us all. Our area of Ind is now 4" below normal since April 1st, with 3 of

that being in May. Had to plant in the mud and now it is bone dry...not a good combination, UNLESS

we have a moist summer and then it is perfect. Just trying to make the point that I feel your

pain. We have all been there and done that and it is real tough to persevere sometimes.

Since you are going to PP why do you care anyway? Your year is pretty much over...

Isn't this pretty normal for MO...bumper crop followed by disaster...that is normal right?

Warning -- Sarcastic response to follow -- I thought, based on USDA reports, that "normal" was supposed to be trendline yields, and as good as in the bin as soon as the seed was ordered.

Yet actually, you're pretty much right.  Also, remembering 1988 (I think) dryness in parts of Indiana, things didn't look too promising about this time of year, and looked worse middle of summer.  Turned out better than it could have.

Might be just a tad early To call it quits?

Still weeks away from pp date on beans

Heading onto the warmer month of June

I'm three hundred acres away from done on beans

I'm Not ready to return bean seed just yet.

Three weeks more of this and we'll talk.

Drizzling as I type this.....

Have fun MT. Our time on the water always brought great memories and the family back together.

No internet, no cell service...ah the good ole days.

MT, out little local coop location is cleaning out the last of their 550,000 soybean storage. It's may and the pigs will keep eating and this could be interesting.  I forgot to ask what we have (total) as a company. No idea about farm storage, but i got some left.

!6 inches for a month? You're not the first one or the last to have that amount. I had 21 for june last year at one location, but had the crop planted before the deluge. Extremes make averages, so hold on for the future weather.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W6as8oVcuM
