sorghum planting intentions
I don't even know where to follow prices, but exports have been very good for this crop. How many dryland corn acres and acres under irrigation restrictions will get switched from corn??? If any... What will failed wheat acres turn into?? Soys?? Sorghum/milo?? Fallow??

Re: sorghum planting intentions
Nothing without rain.
A % of low yield irrigation well areas will have hard decisions whether to try for 2/3 of a corn crop, 1/2 circle or milo.
Milo is not all roses either. One wind, heavy snow, or ice event and it is on the ground. It ,next to wheat is probably the most hardy crop out there though.

Re: sorghum planting intentions
Seed is $180 a bag or more, then herbicide,
Which has carryover problems, and then
fertilizer.
Talk here is planting to millet.
I personally like sunflowers, but the numbers
Don't look good.

What herbicides you using cheapo? I've been raising milo my entire life and I've never experienced a carryover issue.

Re: sorghum planting intentions
He must be using more seed per ac. than I do , because our seed cost is hardly a factor.
