Re: sunspot count

I got a little tidbit of news:  humans will adapt and evolve to deal with whatever climate we get.

It's what the great majority of us will do regardless of lefties complaining about the Koch brothers (at least one of them is dead, right?) or righties complaining about Soros and his minions.

In the 70's they told us the ice age was returning but we just turned up the disco and got thru that too.

Kind of like people getting excited about glaciers melting in Iceland and not mentioning the geo-thermal activity that is so much a part of everyday life there.  Or ice breaking off in Antarctica and ignoring the underwater volcano that caused it.

Re: sunspot count

Who, me worry?

Oh, I think mankind will survive but if left to run unabated it will be a disruptive event of unequaled magnitude.

In other news, FLA Gov Ron DeSantis announced that we must think of the poor putt putt entrepreneurs and he is ordering that everyone in FLA must grow fins and gills by 2100.

Re: sunspot count

True - we humans are amazingly adaptive to change = the only constant.

Re: sunspot count

Although at this rate the earth would be warmer in 2150 than anything our species has ever experienced. We’ve only been around for a tiny fraction of geological time.

OK, let’s try this. “I am so selfish about defending my tiny, perceived privileges that I’m fine with risking the project of human civilization.”

Re: sunspot count

To this day I remain flabbergasted that “common sense” people can’t wrap their heads around the notion that releasing a couple million years’ of sequestered carbon every year might produce some disequilibrium.

I think won’t, not can’t captures it better.

Maybe not so “common sense?”

" can’t wrap their heads around the notion that releasing a couple million years’ of sequestered carbon every year might produce some disequilibrium."

Every time I read someone make similar statements my mind goes back to this former great nonsense.
