Re: the audio............
A very good point , sw. And also remember if we subsidize something, we tend to get more of it. So do we want more grain production, or do we want more unemployed? That said, I do believe the government is in a lot of businesses it should not be involved with. Do we want to produce for the goverment, or do we want to produce for the free market?

Re: the audio............
Ok MT, I have a house that you and your family can use on the southside of Chicago. You can live there, you do not have to pay and you do not have to give me anything. It will be free for you. How's that. I'll donate it but you have to live there.

Everyone has a way to justify their entitlement. IMO, people are not against entitlements, they are just against the entitlements they themslves don't get.

Re: the audio............
MT,
Just like any govt hand out there are some requirements you have to fulfill. I will give you the house but you cannot sell it and you have to live there. Handouts come with stipulations.

Re: the audio............
Without question there exists- among the large crop farmer population- a much higher prevalence of narcissitic personality disorder than among the broad populace.
Not to mention full blown sociopathy- obviously a smaller percentage but also much greater than the general population.
Not unlike among financial grandees, politicians etc. Of course a hedge fund operator or private equity guy will argue with you 'til the cows come home aobut why the world will end if he doesn't get a 15% tax rate.
And he'll believe it 100%.
