Re: toppy??

I kinda like owning a few of those outa the money calls esp. when markets get over done like owning some penny stocks somtimes cheap storage also. Everyone has there own little risk parameters can't all be the same or the markets wouldn't work.

Re: toppy??

One could always wait and try and pick the high but at some point you have to lock in the physical. My idea is if a profit is offered take it and leave the upside open if the market is trending higher. Things can change so fast in the world of today.
I would spend about 30 cents on a july option if the market broke hard.

On farm storage is huge now. I dont have enough and that effects marketing decsions to a large degree.Take my wheat for example. I got the rally I was hoping for but I have it in commercial storage and Im having to give some of it back.

Re: toppy??

Time to build some big bins. Round here harvest delivery guys get taken advantage of especially this year. Coop wants 8-12.50/t elevation charge. Takes stupid dockage amounts. If I'm over what I store I send it far away to a diff elevator for 3-4/ mt more. Sucks but I can't consent to robbery.

Of course, we can put 40 mt in an end dump and 45 in a double legally. I figure I get my trucking for free plus a bit more by having storage and moving further out during harvest downtime.

I need more bins too
