Re: vr

God help us if it happens!  It's the worst kind of depression.  Destroys a lot of wealth of a lot of people and causes much poverty.

Re: vr

Uncontroled inflation is the worst nightmare that could happen to this country. Many years ago our neighbor lady who was born in germany had us over to hear her older sister talk about the inflation in germany after WW1. She related that her mother would meet her father immediately when he was paid, they would then procede to buy whatever they needed because tomorrow, it would not buy as much. Then she went on to tell about the local brewery (every town had a local brewery) (before refrigeration). They sold their brewery for a tremendous sum, but before the inflation was over, that money would not even buy a loaf of bread.

The only ones who came out after WW2with anything was someone who could hold on to their assets like land that went up, then down then up again.

Events like this helped the rise of Hitler, who was elected in a democratic election

I read this many years ago, by whom, I don't know "A starving man will follow a despot for a crust of bread just to feed his family"
