weather maps

starting to suggest a fairly normal La Nina summer.

Ridge pulls back west a little and some more gulf moisture makes it up into the MW. Under that scenario it may still be kinda nip and tuck for the far western and northwestern belt, but the heart and eastern belt should do ok.

Re: weather maps

You do tend to get a weaker Sonoran Monsoon when the E Pacific is cool.

A heavy monsoon is what has led to more summer rainfall in the far NW belt over the last 3 decades or so.

Cold snap over Iceland and snow by evening and tonight at NE- and E-Iceland from Akureyri to Djúpivogur.  Mainly above 200 m.a.s.l.  #IcelandRoads

Re: weather maps

8-14 looks pretty wet. Sometimes weekend forecasts aren’t the best.

The pattern has persisted through the entire Spring but won’t last forever.

We’ll see what the solstice and full moon bring- that was when I was expecting a shift if it were to happen.

I thought you said it was all about fossil fuel use causing wacky weather patterns.

Re: weather maps

Believe I mentioned sunspots, which I believe are worth paying attention to.

Plain old fashioned La Niña seems to be more the factor here and that really doesn’t point to a big time MW drought.

But yes, the fact that the atmosphere carries about 7% more water vapor with the higher mean temps might have some bearing.
