Re: wheat harvest is upon us

Same for us SW.  There were a couple that started already this past Wednesday with mixed results.  I was told many took some samples yesterday at upper 14's to lower 16's.  I'd imagine with our current weather forecast we'll be in full swing by Monday which plays right into my hand.  I'm working off the farm this weekend but took off all of next week with vacation.  Little do they know that spending time on the farm is my real vacation, being paid from the off the farm job for not working---well that's just icing on the cake.

Be safe.

Re: wheat harvest is upon us

How are test weights?  I've been reading the harvest reports on US Wheat Associates and it seems like we may get all the HRW & SRW volume the market and USDA expect, but be 3-5% short on bushels due to test weight.  Or is it looking like we will be short both ways?

Spring wheat looking good in my area of WCMN so far.
