Insurers Writing sUAS Coverage Without FAA Rules
Even though the FAA has not published rules on the commercial use of sUAS, except to say you have to have a waiver to fly them, some insurance companies are writing policies. They claim writing a policy has nothing to do with whther the FAA has approved operations.
Insurers are selling policies to fliers who think the FAA won't catch them, to those who claim the FAA has no legal right to regulate them, and to those who claim they are not in a commercial operation.
Pilots will recognize the difference in perspective between non-aviation trained persons and those who have been indoctrinated with the FAAs very detailed and legalistic definition of what is commercial.
