Trimble Field IQ System
I am considering doing away with my Raven controller and installing a Field IQ system on my sprayer and using my FM-750 monitor for the rate controller. Does anyone have any experience with this setup, or should I stick with the raven controller and use the manual on/off section controllers?

Re: Trimble Field IQ System
We are using FIQ for preplant spray, NH3 application, Planter control, and Post spraying. We had an earlier version of this system (TAC) and upgraded to FIQ this year. It works. Period. It's easy to spray with once set up, and the automatic sections make overspray a thing of the past. We are using the FMX monitor, but I am sure the 750 has similar functionality. Because of our unique setup, we use the Raven only to manually control pump pressure, and FIQ takes care of section and rate control.

Re: Trimble Field IQ System
We installed a new FMX display this spring with the FIQ, I have no experience with the Raven controler, but I can tell you the running the Trimble is very easy once setup. We used Auto rate and Auto section. I know i wouldnt want to spray anyother way. We used a EZ guide 500 up until this year and switched to the FMX, was a little learning curve to get used to but the after one spring i cant wait to use it again. We also perchased a 750 and loved that also. All we do with that is EZ Pilot though.

Re: Trimble Field IQ System
if you are wanting to replace your raven controller and install field iq, it is very easy to do and setup is a little bit tricky on the FM750 but once that is done the system preforms very well. i have installed and setup 3-4 this spring and all are running great. the nice thing is the raven harness from the raven controller remains the same and plugs on to the field iq harness. to do section controll with the 750 you will need to purchase the 12 section switch box for $395.00.

Re: Trimble Field IQ System
Since we are getting later in the season, I think the Field IQ system is going to become a winter project. I am most definitely looking forward to the automatic boom control, I recently rode with a neighbor who has a similar setup, and I must say it looks like the $400 or so is money well spent. After watching him for a few minutes, he is not near a busy in the operators seat as I usually am.

Re: Trimble Field IQ System
I updated to the FIQ system but installed it on my planter instead of the sprayer. Ask me why and all I can say is I don't know. Well 1 reason was to rid the tractor of some cab clutter. With the FIQ system, I can get rid of my Universal Display plus and run all planter functions thru the FM-750. I also updated from EZ-Steer to the EZ-Pilot on the same tractor. I would have went with Auto-Pilot, but I was told my 7140 was not compatable with this system. I'm sure I will be happy with the upgrades I've chosen.
