Re: 89 jobs that deserved to go....
The spraying of pepper spray looks unbelievable but I don't think we know the entire story. The guy definitely went over board with the spray. They are allowed to protest. But they are destroying property, causing businesses to close and the huge costs of this to cities already strapped for operating money is wrong. These are not peaceful protests. I have still not heard of an agenda. They are just being loud and costly. They are preparing to spend the winter protesting and costing the tax payer millions. How can the police departments do their work when they are out there with the protestors?
It has been compared to the civil rights marches but I do not recall violence and the destruction of property. Do not get me wrong, I strongly support the right of free speech. This looks like young adults just having a good time in a huge group of people.

The people sprayed point blank with military grade pepper spray this weekend, were students protesting tuition rate increases.
There has been no credible source with expertise in crowd control who could offer valid rationale for its use in that circumstance. Heads should roll for that one!

Re: 89 jobs that deserved to go....
It 's understandable...I think a lot of protests now are being lumped under the OWS umbrella. As I said, I haven't been paying total attention to the news lately, given the family changes going on.
Having been a colleg student, and having reared three of them, it really bothered me to think that young people would be subjected to physical torture in America, just because they protested the costs of their ongoing education. When I saw those cops, with their riot gear on, and in no danger of being attacked or overrrun, I lost it.
I am disappointed in our country in so many ways right now. There are a lot of our failures, many of which we all saw coming, and did nothing to prevent. If our young people point them out, we attack them in a manner so painful, it is not anything we would do to a dumb animal.
