Brrrrrr! Blankie needed...

...inside my house this morning. Last night was our first that dipped barely into the forties, teetering on fifty. One good thing about sn old, leaky house is that you do not have to really guess when the seasons are shifting outside...you know.

The weather lady just said today will be ten degrees cooler than yesterday, which was five below the day before. I had to grab an afghan to toss over my legs for the coffee check-in this morning. I am seriuosly considering a robe for my shoukders...it is that " fresh" feeling in here.

The next several days are forecast to be the kind that require at least a little AC during the day, some heat at night to be really comfortable. Looks like we got that flexible system ready at Jenna's house just in time for these swings.

For now, I am snuggling underneath a cozy square of fleece, sipping espresso shots, hoping my blood will un-congeal, so I can move fast enough to keep up with Winn this morning.

They will be grabbing him up, to haul sheep to the stockyard today. This load and one more to go. Mike had decided he was not going to be feeding hay snother winter, and I am with him all the way.

Less responsibility here means more time to go to Va, to fix thecroofs on the old corn crib and farrowing house. Those two repairs are at the top of our fix-it list this fall.

Hope all of you are having a good few last days of summer. When you have time, post and let us know how things are going.

Just wait.  It'll change.  It was so cold here last week I had to turn the little floor heater in the kitchen on in the early a.m.  Today it was humid; steamy 96 degrees.

Getting out the sweatshirts did feel good.   Even had to throw the extra blanket on.

Re: Brrrrrr! Blankie needed...

Reached into the drawer at Jenna's this morning, for some 3/4 sleeved henleys for a short trip to Monticello and its surrounds. That was a good choice, as we dined out on a deck, looking at the Blue Ridge Mountains, pleasantly cool, not chilly.

Have a day of civil war tourism on tap near home tomorrow Cold front on tap for this weekend, maybe some rain. We will be tucked back in our bed in Carolina by the time that arrives....
