Your comment about reminding her husband about the workload was what we talked with some friends about last night over dinner. Mike's former career on the railroad was very hard on all of us as a family, but being in the elements and breaking down his body on the trains was exceptionally hard on him. 

When we are both having about all we can take of stresses of running the hog farm, or a surprise thunderstorm hitting a field of almost-ready-to-bale hay, I have on occasion turned to him and asked, "Would you rather be on a train today?"

That puts the present frustration into perspective.  Of course, if he ever says, "YES!" I know we are in big trouble! 

I think I will do more video recording this year.  I bought one of those flip-style Kodak digital videocams back before Christmas.  Did think to film LG whle we were hanging out together one day...really glad I have that few minutes to remember her by....

Those Flip cameras make keeping memories very reasonable for almost anyone. I have used ours to take videos of our breeding stock in addition to family events. This year I videoed the crops so I could check on different diseases or insects in the book or on the internet. It has paid for itself.

I have to sort of pinch myself sometimes, to remind me to record or photograph things...I forget the DROID is a better camera than my best digital one was five years or less ago. 

My video of LG shows her doing her "pretty paw" pose for a cookie, and I actually caught her voice barking at me, when she was trying to figure out what the camera was doing in front of my face.  A lot of her little "personality" showed through in those few minutes.    I need to stash them in some conputer and burn a disc.

Everything seems to slide beauty-wise in the winter! I'd like to get some caramel-colored highlights again once it warms up a bit. I hate having to pay to have them done in the salon and then having to get touchups on a regular basis. I can't justify $100 every couple of months to get my highlights touched up. Crazy! I may try doing them myself with a kit, or having my mom do them for me, rather. I have been doing a box tint this winter, which gives my dark brown hair some red highlights, which I like. Nice to have something sunnier for summer, though.

Highlights used to be free, Lisa...I'd get them every spring and keep them all touched up all through fall from field work.  Giving that up five years or so ago, I found my gray does pretty much the same job of lightening the overall look..see what you young girls have to look forward to?

After Soilbabe told me about these shadow kits and such for different eye colors, I ordered the two L'Oreal sets for hazel eyes on amazon.  Saw after that that Covergirl has the same thing in their shadows, plus sells Jade liner for hazel eyes, so picked up one of those and some fresh mascara in town today. 

Turns out  nearly all makeup companies do the eye color collections now, and some do at least a couple of each, in both playful and natural tones.   All of them seem to use pretty much the same shades for the same eye color, too, so I do not think you could go wrong with that in any brand. 

Our youngest daughter is talkigng about returning to school to learn cosmetology skills.  (If you can find a student to work on you as a project person, it costs only for the materials.)  Heaven knows, I could use the help!

Ooh, that's a good idea ... a girl from our church is going to beauty school ... I wonder if she'd like to tackle my highlights? I like those eye shadows for different colored eyes. I have dark brown eyes, and have a set like that from (I think it's Almay). It's mostly dark purple, which I like. It's amazing what a new eye shadow or lipstick can do for your outlook!

what supplement is helping your nails?

For several yars now, I've developed a problem with swallowing large pills, and most supplements seem to be honking HUGE ones.  Calcium chews were the first alternative form I tried, and I liked them as a sweet treat  in my day.  

Maybe six weeks or so ago, I started using a glucosamine chondroitin chewable I found at Walmart.  At the same time, I got onto daily a daily dose of a sublingual B-Complex I get there, too.  The B vitamins are supposed to boost energy, and I've really felt a need for that.  Both are Spring Valley brand. 

When I posted here about supplements and my nails improving, someone here said it was the GC that does it.  It might be worth $11 for a box of it to try and see if it helps you, too.  Whatever it is, my nails are actually having to be trimmed when I go for a mani/pedi for the first time in my life.

My daughter found out that  she can keep as many as ten guinea pigs to practice on, and their services will cost only $5 in the school beauty lab.  I am sure that if she goes through with this, her sister and I will be at the top of her list.

Looked on line for cutains but decided I had too many other irons in the fire and will wait a few weeks, until I get my painting done and moved, then I can dedicate some time to finding just the right ones.

Going in to try and get all the wallpaper glue off the walls today..Hope the tsp works...not sure if I should use a rag or what ?
