Staples stores offer free PC tuneups, and the one near us had moved the geeks right up inside the front door. I have taken in my laptop once, and the guy was very helpful.
Look for the coupon in the stores or their ads, and maybe it's online, too. I think they like for you to set an appointment.
Toting in a desktop is a pain, but if it's really miring down, it may be worhththe effort.
