Dry Cleaners or Dry Shrinkers
The two jackets in the picture are the same size and the same name brand.
The difference: The black one recently came back from the dry cleaners.
Lesson: The dry cleaners that I used this time do not know how to dry clean boiled wool; but as a clothes shrinker, they might be a tremendous success.

Re: Dry Cleaners or Dry Shrinkers
Looks like it was washed. In our area dry cleaners are all closing due to retirement or loss of business. But some things do need to be dry cleaner.

Re: Dry Cleaners or Dry Shrinkers
Whoa!!! I would be a bit peeved if that happened to me. I don't have a lot of dry clean stuff but do like to take my wool comforters in at least once a year.

Re: Dry Cleaners or Dry Shrinkers
Bummer about the jacket. Were there special cleaning instructions they didn't follow?
Regarding lack of dry cleaners, same thing happening here. I took a couple winter coats in to local store to have picked up for dry cleaning and due to limited use, they are no longer a pick up spot. Next option is drive the 40 miles to dry cleaner, drop off and then come back a week later. I have one of those dryel kits that I purchased a year ago and only used once. May try that again. They're not really dirty, just want them freshened up.

Re: Dry Cleaners or Dry Shrinkers
I agree, it looks like the dry cleaners washed it instead of dry cleaning it. At least I was able to get a good laugh out of how funny the jacket looked.

Re: Dry Cleaners or Dry Shrinkers
The cleaning instructions in the jacket say to "dry clean." The jacket had been dry cleaned at a different cleaners successfully many times. The cleaners I used this time are more convenient, but definitely not the correct choice for cleaning boiled wool.
