Education efforts on a personal level
I've been involved with a lot of great educational efforts before -- ag in the classroom is a real favorite. Over the last few weeks though I was focused on my nephew's project -- Flat Stanley. In just a couple of weeks time I had people in 15 different states show this paper doll around! And while he's from just outside of Charlotte, NC, we've got people taking an interest in helping him understand raising Brahmans in Texas or fixing farm equipment in Minnesota! I've started a blog post series to share the stories... the first three farms have written blog posts but there's a lot more to come. Thought some of you may want to share, particularly if you have kids.

Re: Education efforts on a personal level
We had Flat Stanley at our farm a few yrs. back. Sent pictures with him & the kids got a kick out of his travels.
We also had a bear who came to visit. Can't remember it's name. It's always fun for them & educational for the kids who haven't been on a farm.

I agree! Lots of fun what they can learn. My nephew was just worried that he would have to read all of it to the class! Great how kids minds work. His Stanley went to a few ranches to see beef cattle, went through a meat processing plant and eventually ate a burger. 🙂

When Rip & Snort were little we made Flat Stanleys which were the same size as they were, FS had to be folded to be mailed. I think Maine was as far as ours went.

WOW! Life size versions would really be cool, thought a bit more complicated to carry about.
The ability to make him digital makes a big difference! We are really glad we did too because the US Post Office seemed to take him on an adventure too! I've posted the map of where all he went and now have up a post of his tour around Memphis to see the Peabody Hotel, Sun Records, Beale Street and more. Lots of fun for us to do and Jake seems to be enjoying the new information!
I've even made it so folks can see the whole series easily by clicking on the photo of Jake & his Flat Stanley.
