Good Coupons

There are good coupons when you google Rid-X and click on the print coupon section.  Things like d-con, finish dw soap, old english polish.

Re: Good Coupons

Thanks for the idea. Do you use a lot of coupons?
I download some store discount ones, but haven't ever really kept up with the individual product cents- off stuff. Those extreme coupon queens make me feel nervous....

Re: Good Coupons

I don't appreciate extreme couponers either......does one really need 75 boxes of noodles or pads????  Cleaning out all of the stock at the gro store irritates me too!  I do like a good 50 cent or $1.00 off here and there!

Cleaning out stock

In the aftermath of Irene in August, double food stamps were issued to recipients.  In addition, people who don't normally qualify, but who met certain criteria, got some similar assistance, from what I have read.

Merchants in the area were not prepared for the onslaught of consumer presssure.  A lot of items were out of stock for a week or so at local stores.  This was not the usual raid on bread nd milk that precedes a hurricane or ice storm here.  It was canned goods galore.

I can't remember what I was looking for, but there was one specific item that was out everywhere I went for a while.   It always seems that this will  be the one thing Mike has asked for...right now, I have had to chase his favorite brand of hot sausage (Bass Brothers Farms) all over the county and beyond.

This has been going on for several weeks now.  Saw their delivery truck in town a while back, and wanted to follow them to their next dropoff....

Re: Good Coupons

I hate coupons.  Rarely use them, only by chance, usually if they are attached to the product and the checker finds it.

do you have any idea how much coupons cost a store to handle.  One of my husband's uncles owned a grocery store.  When they were very small coupons were a big headache for them.  Many man hours into processing the stupid things.  Frankly I belive they could probably take 10 cents off the price of every thing in the store if they did away with coupons.

Re: Good Coupons

I always wondered how merchants dealt with all those scraps of paper. Now, electronic means of doing discounts could make it a lot easier, but we still get those stinking bits of paper.

Then, you have all those membership programs, and the tiny tags to wad up on your keyring...if I can't get the discounts with my telephone number, I just can't get them.

It has always panicked me when the cashier says, "You saved ____ dollars today.". Uh, NO! I spent twenty times that much....

I would for once like to walk into a store and get the best price without all the pretense.

Re: Good Coupons

My youngest is a coupon queen. I am amazed at what she saves. I just can't seem to get her system down to benefit us. However, when I analyze my time spent versus savings it works out to $20 per hour. I can justify that. Her system is close to $50 an hour. That is much better.
