Re: Is our group falling apart or just busy?
Hey, I see your son is interested in farming and forensics. I think the University of Wisconsin at Platteville has a foresics program that they have used dead animals and buried them for their projects.

Re: Is our group falling apart or just busy?
I check theboards everyday. Guess I am dealing with my own personal issue's right now and I am sure you all don't want to hear my ongoing saga of drama. I value all or your friendships and hope we keep going. We all know that we are a shoulder to cry on, an friend to lift us up when were down, and someone to bounce idea's off. I guess I don't talk to my best friends daily and I am sure it is the same on here. When we need each other..were here...THANKS.

Re: Is our group falling apart or just busy?
Thanks for the kind wishes...I spent almost 12 hours on the road today, leaving by seven to make the pulmonologist's appointment by nine in Greenville, and winding up with my monthly planning board meeting this evening. The conclusion of the evaluation today, which was very thorough, is that my lungs are not yet damaged by this stuff (which was what the family doctor was telling me, and scaring the crap out of me), but that I do have some severe chemical and mold sensitivities.
End result: peace of mind, a pair of different-purposed inhalers for now, and some bloodwork pending to assess allergic response. This medical grouop had more resources in its office than the two hospitals in our area have between them...I was moved from one step to another, never waiting more than two minutes, if that, and the doctor had answers on the spot. Awesome experience, worth the drive.
I spent the afternoon, having my car washed and cleaned inside out, enjoying a really good salad for lunch, and browsing my favorite stores, but not really buying. It was sunny, but cool and windy.. Everywhere I went, the DOT was brining the roads for our threatened snow tomorrow. Hope I will make it to my A&P lab practical exam.
Oh, how quickly we forget...my Hughesnet was down for a week or so, but since I was so sick, I only bothered to fire up the DROID here and there. I am on it again tonight, since my wifi signal that connects me to the satellite is oddly weak, and I am too tired to figure out why. So, throw technical difficulties into the mix here.

He is looking at Madison, wants to be on their dairy judging team. He has been to both Harrisburg and Louisville on 4-H dairy judging teams.

Re: Is our group falling apart or just busy?
Kay, sounds like you got a very thorough exam. Peace of mind for that is priceless. Perhaps when you get this under control you can get back to your nursing full time. Didn't mean to be unsympathetic to your dream. I was having a really stressful day & guess this spilled over to my post.

Re: Is our group falling apart or just busy?
No apologies required...nursign school was not a "dream" for me. I got interested in medical issues when my LG got sick and I realized I had no clue what heer vets were saying. It became apparent to me that i needed to know more about medical care and how it should be rendered to humans, too.
When I started to look into ways to learn more, a local community college nursing ed consortium was the closest and most cost-effective way I could think of to achieve an overview of the subject. Whilel I was doing fine acadenically and in he clkinical environment in terms of performance, I got sick for six weeks last time I was assigned to the hospital last fall. Right now, I am turning the corner on three really cruddy health weeks from the latest rotation.
I am so sick of coughing and heaving from this stuff...you know how that feels. It has taken up residence in my upper chest, and my goal right now is to evict it ASAP. I understand the inflammatory process that is at work on my system right now, and that is what the nursing courses gave me: better understanding. I never really felt I'd practice nursing as a career.
I do not have a dream of doing anything other than what I do every day right now...not that I love doing taxes these days, but that is a small inconvenience in an otherwise not-too-shabby life. If I dedicate one week a year, spread out over a month, a day here an there, and have the rest of the time to enjoy my husband, my kids, and my hobbies, I'd be a fool to focus on that and let it spoil everything else.
This morning, I did not have to rush out in the dark, in falling snow, to get to the hospital. I am curled up in my warm home having a chat with my friends. I think this is the dream!

Re: Is our group falling apart or just busy?
Oh my I hope not. I have noticed some do not post as often. I also have so many things going on, I usually don't have time to post, but I do check in on this site at least 4 or 5 times a week. I use FB more and I wish more would use our group there also, but it does not get used very much. It is easy to post there, and since you may be on FB you are already signed in. I still love this site, and I sure hope it stays around. The friends I have made on here are priceless. I share so many things with all of you that I don't share with anyone. This is a special place and it is cheap therapy.
