It's ten pm

...and my bookwork for September is done.  Went ahead and did all the October drafts..setup to draft and recorded in the ledger.  That only leaves two months of them for 2015...WOW!

Hard to believe this year is winding down so fast.  It has been a VERY bad one for the pigs.  I am VERY glad we had a calf crop to sell this summer, and that all the rental houses and the store are paying.

Lost a couple of months on the best house, but the couple there now appears ecstatic to have it, so hopefully they will stay a good, long while.  The cows are dropping a couple of calves here and there now...going to be interesting to get that bunch back on a tighter season next year.  Eight heifers we raised this year to breed are looking good.

With the new generator, I hope we are finally set up on that farm for the long haul, emergency planning, etc.  The LP is supposed to go in tomorrow, and the installer will help get it running before week's end.  WHEW!

He's installing the heat to the workshop/greenhouse this week, too.  Winn and I worked in the dry over there today, painting an old rocking chair for him...he's growing up SO fast.

It was so nice to have all my tools, the paints, dropcloths, all organized and ready to use.  Even had some paper towels and a bottle of Ivory soap in there, in a crate of cleaning supplies...and believe me, we needed it!

Mike and Winn hauled wood to both boilers yesterday.  I think the AC will be shut off on Thursday night, and the house boiler will be lit.  I am sure it will depend upon the day the installation is done on the other house, then that one lit, too, to check out the workshop's system.  Using recycled radiators there, so it is a different thing than we've done before.

Mike has about cleaned out the shed he was working on earlier in the week.  More places for hay.  He's spending every spare hour cutting and splitting wood, too.  Good thing he loves that, with three boilers to feed.

Fall for sure...forties to fifties lows to highs starting Friday.

Are you ready to see 2015 wind down, too?

Re: It's ten pm

No, this year has gone by way too quickly. Another birthday coming up. It seems to be a strange year weather wise and I am wondering what this winter will bring.   I am in no hurry to see.

Re: It's ten pm

Yes.  This hasn't been the best year with Brian's health issues it is at least 2 trips to doctor/month and an extra one every other month.  Then Ronnie falling & concussion which exposed a problem with his potassium.  Very lucky he didn't have a heart issue.  The doctor called today and his blood test Monday showed a problem yet so changing his blood pressure medication.  Up until last year his blood pressure was very very low.  Life changes, right. One pill to counteract the other.

Then my mom.  God forgive me, I don't have enough patience.  I'll leave it at that.

My computer somehow lost a lot of my bookwork but I have a good start on catching up.  Almost up to date.  I'm drowning in medical receipts, travel receipts for trains to Chicago, etc.  That is where I'm behind.  And my house!!  I am overwhelmed with it.  Many days I don't get a thing accomplished.  When I am ready to really get a good start, Ronnie & Brian come in for snacks, TV and a break.  Brian is more tired lately and needs the break and hard to work quietly.

Corn is picked and grateful it went as well as it did.  One field went down really badly.  Now if we could just get that beef price back up.  LOL

Re: It's ten pm/wow didn't realize it had been a month

Things are flying by so fast.  no kay i'm not sorry to see 2015 end  it has been a difficult year.

Things just keep changing and changing around here.  They are going bananas with the latest construction project.  Just a little barn addition to add about 80 more cows.  But it also included some of the needed stuff for future thoughts.Third well and then the utility room for it and an upgrade on the electric that was supposedly done once and is getting redone again.and a bunch of cement work that it is getting late in the season for.  Good thing it has been an absolutely gorgeous fall here.  Very mild and not wet

I still don't feel like I fit anymore.  There have been so many revelations and changes in family dynamics this year.  Kind of upsets me because I get so disappointed in some of the reactions from some of my kids.  Course some of it is all of us simply growing older and their families growing older and changing in preferences and priorities.  Plus I think I now spend too much time thinking about stuff.  Life is really about relationships and some times they aren't what you thought or what you would want them to be

I too am glad to hear an update from you. Your last paragraph is on target. After a certan age life does change in so many ways. Energy levels for sure. More wisdom. We must at some point learn to go with the flow.   Seniors just cannot do it all anymore like they would like. There is no way to be prepared.

Re: It's ten pm/wow didn't realize it had been a month

Very thoughtful last portion of your post, Dairy.  At some point, when we finally have time to take a breath & look around, we find things a bit different than we really thought.  Turkeys point on energy hits here.  Worked in my laundry/mud/pantry room yesterday.  Small space actually but took a long time & I'm still not done.  Need to paint but also need to organize & purge.  Should have started that project sooner as we have several doctors appointments the first part of Nov. and church bazaar.

Don't you wonder where that came from - "bazaar".  Is it actually the people attending, or the people hosting, or the event itself?  LOL

So glad you checked back in at any rate.  We have friends who are getting back into milking & putting in robots.  Not sure they have this thought out as all the sessions we attended say you still have to be available to check things out.

Hope your expansion goes quickly & smoothl y.
