Luddite on wireless

I also put this post on the computers help too, but thought you ladies with newer technology may be able to help me faster with this question. I am need of a new printer/scanner/copier, but all i find are wireless. How does this work? Do I have to buy something extra or will a USB cable still work? TIA

Weare on ourvthird ot fourth wireless printer...timevflies when you are having this mich fun. Every one I have had lo obludes the option t ibtall with a USB connection. I am sure that is so they can be utilized with a omputer that lacks wireless connectivity. I do believe with these printers, you may need to have cable, which should have been part of a previouly ibstalled one. If you need a cable touse a hrdwired setup, it should tell you so on the box, or say " optional" or " not included" somewhere, in refernce to that type of installation.

If you are buying in a store, it should be no trouble to get a salesperson or the geek ofbthe placevto help you. If not, then dig deeply into the item specifications or description.

Check the whole article your old printer cable will probably work get info from Amazon on other printers and check them out, do a Google search for what brand you are interested in.

You can use a traditional cable or if you have a wireless network in your home you can go wireless.  Wireless works great for laptops etc but if you have a desk top there's really no need for it.  Remember that if you do want to stay "wired" to check the box when you buy.  More and more are coming without the required cables so you will want to doublecheck and if need be purchase the cable.  Good luck!
