Nervous

Ok, I will be the drama queen today!  Going to have an MRI on my other shoulder today.  Had Rt shoulder operated on last year about this time.  This time its the left shoulder.  I should probably gone to the doctor earlier this summer when I felt the rip. been dealing pretty well, although sleep is getting tougher since I am a roller and the cross eyed moments aren't any fun.  Gotta take a pill as I don't deal well with MRI's.  So that is in an hour or so...Hate that little culvert they shove you in!

Re: Nervous

Best of luck with the MRI. Wish my Dr. would order MRI for me. My shoulders ache ALL the time even with pain meds. Cortisone shot next week. Sleeping thru the night is impossible.

Re: Nervous

Doesn't anyone have an open MRI nearby? Mike has one for his shoulder, and didn't need sedation.

Re: Nervous

Have you tried glucosomine daily? Not the chondrotin, just the glucosmine pill only. It has worked for me and kept my shoulders from aching. Delivering and sorting mail is tough on mine daily.

Re: Nervous

I got through it.  I was breathing hard though.  They had to do some of the scans twice as I was moving (duh).  She said sometimes they have to have patients come back because the scans aren't clear enough.  They wil have to completely knock me out or find me an open MRI if they don't want me to breathe!  Seriously, I am a big girl, but what do they do with people that are bigger than me?  my right arm was resting across my body and my elbow still touched the outside.  Have not tried the glucosamine supplements.  Worked for our dog!

Re: Nervous

Cortisone shot should tell the tale.  I had one on my right shoulder and it didn't take the pain away only dulled it to a low roar for a couple weeks...

Re: Nervous

First cortisone shot in my knee was a miracle, second one not so much...third one was a waste of time and money.  None of the systemic effects were pleasant.  It's a stopgap measure at best, from what I have seen with me and Mike's elbows.

Re: Nervous

Why are you only using chondrotin? I have always taken it with the glucosime. I just thought it worked together. I guess not?

Re: rotator cuff tear

So much for me being organized...got me a partial rotator cuff tear.  Back in June, I was trying to punch holes in my farm invoices to put in my three ring binder.  Must have tried to punch too many at a time. I felt it tear, but being a farm woman, we just push through and hope it heals on it own...guess not this time.  DH will not be happy.  Hired man with a broken arm and the wife with shoulder surgery looming.  Hey, I may be home when he needs a ride back and forth for moving equipment to the field!

Re: rotator cuff tear

That is distressing at any time of year. Hope you heal quickly.
