Plans with your Valentine?
Mike and I had tickets for "Romance in the Park," a reception at the local waterfowl park last night. Good food, plenty of wine and a whole table of treats made by their own chocolatier...plus two singers and dancing. A fun evening, and an outing we both sorely needed, after weeks at home due to bad weather and icky illness.
I suppose the Valentine's Day rush in restaurants will be spread out from Saturday to Monday this year, but there is usually a line stretched out of anyplace decent around here. That will probably be worse this year, since two of the big chain restaurants have closed in town. We really do not eat in restaurants anymore, so it's sort of moot to us.
Just wondering what fun plans you have for your Valentine this year.

Nothing, We will be weaning pigs. He gets to stare at the vase of fake red and pink roses sitting in the livingroom and my two battery operated toys that sing and dance.

Re: Plans with your Valentine?
We do not have any plans. We took the family to dinner last night. My grandson was feeling good so all of us went. We told the girls that was their Valentine from us. I have steaks laying out now for tonight, but for tomorrow no plans at this time. I usually just wait and when the flowers and trees are in the stores, I buy some for the yard. I would rather have one to put out instead of some that will not last very long. ANyway hope everyone at least will tell your significant other how much you LOVE them. Happy Valentine to everyone.

Nothng going on here, I'm afraid. I laid steaks out also. Really didn't feel like fighting a crowd either. No cards or flowers so far either. Oh well, I'd probably just get the bill to pay from the florist. I'll put mine out in the spring too. I hate to add those tickets up, but I figure it's my "therapy".

Re: Plans with your Valentine?
We had a weekend at the waterpark in Omaha, which was actually a belated Christmas present. Instead of getting a bunch of toys the kids would forget about, we promised them a trip to a waterpark (of course Santa brought a few toys), and we paid up last weekend. It was great!
So tonight, we're just having a nice dinner at home. Not sure yet what I'm fixing! I do know I'm making a homemade cherry pie for my Valentine, which is his favorite treat. We don't really do gifts or anything for Valentine's Day. I know he bought me a card, and I'll make him a card today, and make cards for the boys.
The best part is that all 3 of my boys want me to come to their school Valentine's Day parties! I'm making red velvet cupcakes for Luke's class, and will bounce around this afternoon between all three of their parties.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

My Valentine brought home a large boquet of flowers before he went to work
