Sad News in our Community

We lost a friend last night.   She was about 55 and died from complications of the flu.     Saturday  she went to the hospital dehydrated.   They gave her IVs and sent her home later.     Yesterday there were still prayers in church still unable to keep anything down.     Last evening received a prayer chain call that she went back to hospital and they were transferring by ambulance to a bigger hospital.    She died around midnight.

She was a beautiful person.   Loving, cared about everyone.   At Christmas she spearheaded a drive for our church to provide 13 Christmas boxes for needy families in our small community.      She has 2 grown and married children.   No grandchildren....she would have made a fantastic grandma.

Please pray for Cheryl's family.

Re: Sad News in our Community

Prayers sent.  A person always hears of this happening with the flu, but it isn't usually anyone a person knows.  Both of my kids had Type A Influenza a few years ago.  They ran a fever for 2 days and then were good for 3 days and then repeated it.  I kept calling the nurse line and they don't want you to bring them in until they have had a fever for 3 days.  I finally just went in and when they swabbed them, they were positive.  How many times does a death happen when the person is advised not to come in until they have been sick for several days??

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of life.  I don't understand how God picks them sometimes.

Re: Sad News in our Community

So sorry to hear of your friend's death. So young too. Most assume that flu affects the elderly and kids much more than those between. A reminder to get our vaccines at whatever age to prevent something similar happening in our own families.
