TV
OMG, I know I probably have posted on this before but there's so much garbage out there! With early darkness we're in earlier but bored to death with antenna tv. PBS disappointing tonight too. Watching good old Martha cook. Think the milk parlor was more stimulating. Better find a good book to read. LOL

Re: TV
I DVR everything now and just sit and watch when I get a chance. I'm so annoyed with a bunch of what's on it's pathetic. Fri. night there wasn't a lot on and no movie really interested me so I sat and read my Kindle and surfed the net and was content. LOL I can go a whole weekend with no TV.

Re: TV
I usually flip through facebook, pinterest, news on the computer and then do my word search. Have tons of magazines that need to be looked through and disposed of. Feeling real lazy when I get done with supper anymore. DH flips through the channels so much, I can't even get into a TV show anymore. Am so tempted to get cable!

Re: TV
LOLOL Ruby-sounds exactly like my DH. Flips through so fast it makes my head spin. When he finally lights on one that I usually find totally boring he falls asleep, remote in hand, in no time at all. I too navigate the kindle but I forgot to charge it so I was lost. I really need to get my floor lamp repaired so I can read a book or go through magazines & purge.
I am sooo terrible on magazines. I have good intentions to purge, but then I get lost in the pages & hate to pitch.
Guess I need to try Netflix again. Our old server was too slow; maybe t his one is better.

Re: TV
Still no satelite here yet. We still rent from Netflix 3 DVDs price. If there is nothing on TV, no new netflix, no library tapes or discs left to watch... we just pop in one from our embarassing large collection that we haven't seen for awhile.

Re: TV
Since we enjoy some series we missed when they came on, both the amazon Prime and DirecTV on Demand offer us a chance to catch them at will. Mike has started The Tudors, and I just finished Lost. He dropped out about season four of six.
i foind out that we can use the ROKU here in NC, since replacing it with the WiFi BluRay player at Jenna's house. My Verizon signal is sometimes shaky here, but it worked fine this weekend.
We have watched every episode of The Closer now....had not seen the first season of two when they were broadcast. Walking Dead still carries a charge, on amazon, so we will wait for it to shift to Prime...I need to see if any seasons have turned DTV on Demand.
We plan to watch Decoded, since learning about the History Decoded book and enjoying it so much. Homeland is really worth watching from the beginning. Criminal Minds is getting really creepier than I like. Shameless is coming back after Christmas.
This is the time of year when series get disrupted by sports, holidays, etc. Harder to find new ones to like...oh, Mike & Molly comes back on Monday.

Re: TV
I could lose TV and movies and never even notice. I prefer the peace and quiet of no TV. Give me a good book, some classical music and a cup of tea and I am entertained.
The only exception is Big Bang, of course!!

Re: TV
Never have gotten into Big Bang. Maybe I should give it a shot. So many like Homeland are hard to jump into. The Voice is one we watch & I DVR Dancing with the Stars but often never watch it. Good Wife & Scandal on my list. Like watching the twists & turns of Washington which I'm sure happens.
If our internet isn't fast enough I could up it for more $ but don't know if it would be better to just give in for satellite although many say there's nothing on it or they watch major stations. Our TV is on the wall above the fireplace & is a bugger to change anything on. Need to study these new Chrome & Roku.
Guess I'll set up my own little corner upstairs to join LuAnn with soft music, good book & maybe a glass of wine.

Re: TV
I agree with LA I do not care for movies or much tv. I usually watch news shows and am watching some of the house shows like Love It or List It. I go to bed early and love early mornings.
